Why can't our Gen 4 SHOs get the same exhaust sound as a 3.5L Ecoboost Ford GT

My question, if we (Gen 4 SHOs) have the same base engine as the GT, why can't we get the same awesome exhaust sound the GTs get? What are we missing from the system? There is no reasonable explanation why the SHO (or any other 3.5L twin turbo EcoBoost) can't give the same powerful exhaust sound as the GT.

Yeah, got that since the GT's engine puts out 660 hp vs the SHO's 365hp (non-PP as delivered). Even so, exhaust flow is exhaust flow -- what comes in gets burned and must go out. Until the engine hits the higher performance ranges (beyond the stock SHO obviously), I can't believe the GT's exhaust system can't provide some ideas about how to get a better "performance" sound from the SHO. How can we learn from what they're doing to find a step up for our SHOs?

Pretty sure the only thing the GT's engine shares with ours is the name. So what works for the GT doesnt apply to the SHO.

Does the GT get the truck version or the car version of the 3.5 EB? Nonetheless, there is of course internals, but also tuning - of engine AND exhaust. Manufacturers spend a LOT of money making cars sound (or not sound) the way they do.

The car is powered by a 3,496 cc (3.5 L; 213.3 cu in) Twin-turbocharged Ford EcoBoost V6 engine generating a power output of 647 hp (482 kW; 656 PS) and 550 lb⋅ft (746 N⋅m) of torque.[17] The engine shares many components with the F-150's 3.5 L V6 engine including the cylinder heads, block and dual fuel system. Notable differences include larger turbochargers, an aluminum intake manifold, a custom dry sump lubrication system, unique camshafts and higher strength rotating and timing drive components.

Specific race cam profiles, Turbos are about twice as capable with much more efficient and freer flowing manifolds, are the main reasons for the drastic difference in sound (and power capability). Our Sho manifolds to turbine inlets on our turbos are choked down quite a bit with much smaller turbos. Makes for great low end tq and quic spool time.149387e60a834509bfa5c96e66355055

I thought getting the new 7.3L glasser in the office was cool.

By the way, the compressor wheel for the 1.0L is about the size of a quarter. Random fact for the day.

That's impressive, and I did not know that. Figured there would be changes and updates to the block from the SHO to the GT

Kind of like the small block Chevy this block evolved. The GT is actually using the base engine from the F-150 code name RFF block. The sho block is a front drive version which has a very different water pump path because the assembly had to be shorter to fit in a front wheel drive car. The F-150 used an older rear wheel drive block that places the water pump outside the front cover where you can get at it. This design is still actually used in the Econoline with a 3.5 EcoBoost. The F-150 uses advanced items that include cam and cam followers. This is the basic engine for the GT though Roush gets the block and does complete handmade custom assemblies to be put in the GT. That specific knowledge went above my pay grade. On our cars you have to take the front cover off to get at the water pump. Other than that things like crank shafts and pistons look identical to the eye, though there are subtle differences

Sorry, the Econoline went the way of the dinosaur I meant the current transit van uses the pre 2016 F-150 3.5 r. All the 2016 on up f-150s use the RFF block
