SHO M0nk3y:
i got the part and the guy at the store said its called a Stop Lamp Switch and i'll will replace it right now.

Thanks for your help. thumbs_u thumbs_u
GOT THE FIX!!!! Pulled this off from this site using search...... Thanks goes to my wife for her introduction to the search feature of this site and SHOgirl94 who posted the solution.

Since you mentioned cruise control, and after reading the post below, I put one and one together..... Disconnect cruise control. The connector is located next to the throttle body/gear. I followed the vacuum tube from the throttle gear to the closest connector/electronic part. Just unplug connector, then replace #1 fuse (the one that kept blowing!!! ) ... problem solved. My guess is you can replace the CC module later.....

OK, replaced the switch under the brake pedal which is probably what you're talking about, SHO SPD. Didn't do anything. Got to looking around under the hood and saw that someone had plugged the old cruise control module wiring harness back in. Now, I DID NOT do this! Something leads me to believe that the husband did it cause he went and told my dad that it was broken and he didn't have the money to pay to have it towed or anything. I think he was just wanting money, but whatever, the SHO is running fine now and he's long gone!

The brake light switch needs to be replaced. Simple fix. It is located on the brake pedal arm.

1, remove the green cotter pin that retains the plunger to the master cylinder.

2, unplug the switch.

3, the plunger is joined to the arm using a rather thick steel pin. Pull the pin out making note of where all the washers are placed.

4, the switch can now be removed.

I seem to remember the switch costing about $12 at Ford®. If the switch dosen't work, you will not only be unable to shift out park but your brake lights won't work either.

As for the goo on your rear window, it's probably a grease smudge. Use a bit of lighter fluid or paint thinner in a rag to wipe it off and then follow up using windex.

If you really have a problem fixing this, You can drop by and I can fix it for you (free of charge) provided you have the switch.

I am at work from 11 am to 5 pm on SUnday.
