I tried to start my car up yesterday after it was sitting for a while. It didn't work very well though. Seems I forgot that after fixing my coolant leak I should put some antifreeze in it. So it's been sitting in ~20 degrees for about a week with just water in the block...:asskick:

I was kind hoping the freeze plugs took the grenade, so to speak.

I'll have to jack it up, drop the manifolds and check to see if anything is awry. Although part of me really wonders if I care at this point, considering how much thought I've put into it.

Obviously if there is carnage I'll be sure to post it. :woo-hoo:

i had a friend with a 93 dodge shadow who froze his engine last winter with just straight water in it. 30 min and a snapped water pump belt later it was running fine, all melted with no leaks. hope the same goes for you!

Personally, if the freeze plugs didn't bust out, I'd take the coolant pump belt off, run the engine for 5 minutes, then put the belt back on and let the warm water circulate out...

But it's not my engine.

And this friends, is why I don't like the cold. Well, not it's not but my car was sitting for a week and I fixed it literally the day the weather turned really cold here. I would have been so distracted by the other issue I would have completely forgotten about that particular part...whoops from me too and I didn't even do it this time!

That's a great image!

I just started it last night after I noticed the ice melted. It seems okay, but I haven't inspect the plugs yet.

There are so many performance issues on this thing now I'm starting to get concerned that my build didn't go right. Ah well. Time to check the codes.

My bet is it will be OK. There was probably a little antifreeze left in the mix. If your rad is not leaking, I think the motor would be OK.
