@FiveLeeter918 I don’t have my laptop in front of me at the moment but iirc 20 psi, depending on the conditions,~12 degrees advance at 3500 rpm. I think you probably missed the part where I said 20 psi at lower rpm in my earlier post? You also missed me saying E40 so maybe it’s just you not paying attention that is the cause of contention. It is important to note 3500 rpm for several reasons-

1) Obviously MBT is much lower at lower engine speeds, so trying to use my 12 degrees as any sort of reference against other, peak advance figures would be useless.

2) at that speed and a load of 2.0, we’re talking about 32 lb/min airflow. With an effective compression ratio somewhere around 2.5:1, I’m literally running the turbos at their absolute peak efficiency at that point. Maps aren’t “one thing”, they are everything in analyzing turbo performance. More useful work = less excess heat = naught a maussive heaat paump!

3) At 32 lb/min the intercooler effectiveness is naturally quite higher than at, say, 45 lb/min, which even further squashes the notion that I’m pumping pure hellfire into my engine.

4) I think somewhere around 4000 rpm is when the engine starts catching up to the turbos and 20 psi is no longer even possible. So during a 3rd gear pull I’m operating there for maybe two seconds. In a real world drag race scenario it only lasts a split second in 1st gear then is never seen again for the rest of the run. The only way to analyze the heat output there would be to hold it in steady state on a load bearing dyno. But again, we already know the turbos and intercooler are both doing their absolute best work at that point so it’s not worth contemplating.

So all of that being noted, my IAT2 “at 20 psi” is really determined by heat soak only, usually 110-130 degrees. At the end of a pull 130-140 is normal iirc. I have definitely seen higher in some conditions but again it has absolutely nothing to do with the 20 psi number you guys are fixating on. The only reason I mentioned the 20 psi in the first place is because that is where the Hpfp is most stressed, making it extremely relevant to the actual topic of this thread.

The entire point was HPFP.....and most tuners refuse to even run e30 on stock pumps.
Also they usually keep it mild if they do.
Believe it or not it will affect your long term reliability AND it makes small mishaps catastrophic.

Yeah I know and I don't get it. My amateur-ass seriously went straight from 93 to e40 in the first go-round and haven't had a single stumble. **** my fuel trims are actually even closer than they were on 93 and my rail pressure was slightly higher.

The funniest part in it all is that with proper settings (*AND reasonably correct fuel mix) it's almost impossible to lean out the engine. The ECU will calculate whether or not there's enough fuel available and close the throttle before you ever get in trouble. Yet I read of "pro" tunes with no control over engine load and rail pressures plummeting to nothing even on pump gas. So moral of the story is what most tuners think or do means nothing to me anymore.

honest question, have you had a chance to run the car on dragy or at an actual drag strip?

once again, let's see some hard data.
Without that, im gonna trust the professionals. To which the list of tuners who are careful with e30 on stock pumps(sho, flex, explorer) at least in my experience includes ajpturbo, unleashed, gearhead, ortiz, and Brewcity. Give me hard data that proves the professionals wrong.

Bring the data or get back on the porch.

Crazy how all I did was make a comment to ease the mind of someone and now for no reason the parrot peanut gallery is squaking like crazy and demanding answers like I’m trying to sell them something. I give precisely zero flying ***** anyone’s opinion or thoughts of My tuning practices.

Listen, for the past two days I’ve been dealing with the sudden passing of my stepdad. Despite being overwhelmed by it I took the time to write an unnecessary lengthy explanation of a subject that one of the “PROS” wasn’t grasping. And all I get for it is deeper interrogation and chirpy comments from asshats that think they know what they’re talking about simply because they’ve spent the most money on other people’s tunes. Get bent. This free education seminar is now closed.

Sorry to hear of your stepfather's passing, I lost mine to a heart attack when I was 15.

I am not trying to argue, just having a discussion. This community is about growth not destruction, so much hostility in the world this needs to be where we come together and put the ******** aside.

Thanks Lee, and sorry to for yours too. Mine was also a heart attack. It's so surreal losing someone in the blink of an eye like that. I've lost a lot of family, but never so suddenly.
But you're good man, no need to explain yourself. It's just that post #21 was actually typed as a PM to you initially because I didn't feel like dealing with the inevitability of more ridiculous interjections from people eager to pretend they know better because of whatever snippets of secondhand and thirdhand information they've read in emails. But I decided on sharing instead and per usual what it gets me, the only thing it EVER earns me here, is nothing but more hackling from a growing roster of hens.

You're a true ************* dude. No, more like a whole circus mound of elephant shit. Enjoy sitting on that porch like a cuck and watching as other men use your own MPVI to satisfy your truck in all the ways you never could. Sorry for insulting your alphas!

@skyshadow07 sorry for getting this thread hijacked. Not that there's ever a thread here that doesn't. Obviously I don't have the slightest clue what I'm talking about and I therefore need to retract my first post. If you've still got E40 in the tank you'd better get it towed home and drain the tank because YoU'lL hAvE cAtAsTrOpHiC FaIlUrE if you don't . But in all seriousness I bet you probably could lightly drive any gas/E10 tune with up to E60 before you ran out of fuel trim and actually started having driveability problems.

Assuming you quoted me somewhere in here. Gonna give you a cool story bro! Didn't read any of it but here ya go, that attention you crave.

I am glad you made your post public. It is always cool to see what someone else is doing to their vehicle on the tuning side. Esp when it is different from the norm. I hope it works out and you can show an improvement in performance with some numbers to back it up.

Sorry to hear about your step father, sudden deaths are always the hardest.

Why does everybody get so uppity in their feelings? If you've got other things in the way you are not obligated to respond in and way shape or form or just respond as you have time.

Well it's certainly not hard data, but as a general reference the ecu's calculated torque puts me up 60 crank hp over my 93 tune.
