tryin to get my gen3 a wheel alignment. the rear is pretty bad and there is were the problem lies. im gonna need parts to do it right. ive been to 3 shops who have the car for a full day each only to find out they cant get the parts. i even tell them they need the parts before i drop off the car and they always say no problem. id like to find someone who has the parts on hand or can at least get them that day to do it. id like to stay in the worcester- hartford ct. area.

what parts do you need? the camber correction kit for the rear? you know the front cowl has to be removed to drill the spot welds to correct any problem in the front. those bolts that hold those rear arms in seize in the sleeve in this area.

im well aware of those issues and parts needed. the problem i runinto is the shops i go to either dont listen to me or are just plain ignorant so ive yet to be able to get the alignment done. im pretty sure the front is close enough to get it right with out to much work but the rear is a whole other story. the drivers side rear is a little bit out but the pass side is way out like \ out. its killing my tires. i have to get it done soon and im not liking the idea of taking it to ford so i can get *****. im already planning on a $400 bill, not $800.

save yourself some trouble and get some adjustable rear lower control arms for your car. That'll cost around $200 and you adjust toe and camber easily. Where is Holland, MA?

holland is by sturbridge ma. right on the ct border. the car is stock and nothing is bent, its just really out on the rear. the drivers side is a little out but the pass side is way the **** out. i was thinking about the arms but with the bushings and arms its pushing over $300 then a few hundred more for install and alignment is more than i can spend on this car now. i figured grand total would be in the 7-800 range. my wife would **** me for putting more into the car than i paid for it.

No no, If you get the arms, you won't need the bushings. If you have a can of PB Blaster, a couple wrenches, a jack and jackstands you can install them yourself. If you want to go really cheap, go to the junkyard and get some control arms off newer model grand prix's, impala's and the like then buy the reduction sleeves from sho-nut. You could do it for under $100. There's no reason the rear should be out that far without something being bent, a bearing gone, strut mount worn out, or something along those lines

is it the sleeves or bushings i need? i had the adjustable arms in my hands yesterday for 125 for all 4. i saw the bushings on sho-nut for 40 bucks but nothing about reduction sleeves. ill take another look at the car but i dont think anythings bent. maybe ill take some pics and post them up.

if they are GM arms, you need to sleeves, and their part number is SNP-GTPRS. It's under the performance section. $40 The only crazy thing you have to do with the GM arms is cut 1/4" of thread off each piece.

I have them in my car, you need to take that 1/4" out. The width on a SHO is less than that of a G-body so you wouldn't be able to take out all the adjustment you'd want.

so it looks like i have 2 choices now. the factory gm which i understand i need to remove the 1/4" thread material and i need the reduction sleeves or i can get the ingalls from sho source and just bolt them in correct. the ingalls are twice as heavy but half as much money. which is the better of the 2 for long term?

From what I understand the ingalls are a very well made product. When it comes to suspension I'd rather have something beefier than something lighter.
