I used the generic import DRY kit on my 1990 SHO with great results. ONe of the biggest improvements ever in a car and cheap at that.

Make sure to replace your spark plugs with brand new cheap-o copper plugs, repalce the fuel filter, run premium gas. Every 3K miles or so change your spark plugs. I did this and had 12K miles of worry-free nitrous useage before my tranny grenaded.

I would be so into runnig nitrous, if I did not have to replace my brand new stock Ford fuel pump. But from what I have been told, you must upgrade to the 155.

You DO NOT have to upgrade your stock pump (especially if it's new). Do not run platinum plugs with nitrous. Copper or iridium are a good idea (most people use copper autolites). Reinforced motor mounts and an aftermarket clutch will be necessary if you plan on using a lot of nitrous.

A stock clutch will handle nitrous nicely if you do not drop the clutch out and hit the nitrous while the clutch is still slipping. The clutch will hold as long as you are careful with it. The stock fuel pump is perfectly fine for nitrous use. Try not to go above a 75 shot on the stock clutch though.

The general rule for nitrous is 50% of your HP in N20 or less, and on a stock SHO keep the nitrous to 100 shot and under. Over that and it starts to lean out with stock fuel, and things start to melt/break.
The first day i had nitrous on my $200 89 SHO i broke my front motor mount and seperated the resonator from the y-pipe... ahh the memories
My stock clutch started to slip with a 70 shot too (after a few bottles).
I'd say a lot of nitrous is either a large shot or using it often.

I ran the ZEX dry, copper plugs, 190lph walboro pump and centerforce stage 2 clutch and a 100hp shot was good for high 13's on street tires....mid to low 13's on DR's...but then the halfshafts crack.

I have a similar question. If my SHO has the 65LPH fuel pump, is that going to be enough? I figured I'd have to upgrade. Also, on a basically stock 94 ATX, how big of a dry shot would be safe to use? 75?

I run a 75 shot with no problems. Copper plugs, one setting cooler than stock. I think I'll put in iridium plugs next time, just to extend the change interval. What you don't need is more air. I run stock MAF, TB, BBs, etc. NOS provides all the oxygen you need. I do have the 190 fuel pump, but don't know that you need one that high.
If you're doing this to an ATX, figure to have a lot of fun for a short time, so save your $ for when the tranny spills its guts.

What jets did you use to get the 100hp shot?

I woun't use a stock ATX pump. You can get a 155 for ~ $75 and a 190 for still < $100. Its worth the piece of mind.

ANd and aditional mods will help too. If you make 200 on the motor then spray a 75 shot you may be at 268. I fyou make 240 on the motor and spray a 75 shot you'll be ~ 306. HP is HP no matter how you slice it. And more = better all day long. :thumb:
