You will probably need to contact them to let them know that you're a member of SHOforum to get Bob's discount.....

Also, on another note, there is a member here who just traded his SHO for a GT500 Mustang. He had a Corsa exhaust which (I believe) he removed before trading that he may be interested in selling? Check the thread out here: http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=116041

Actually I just went into BAndit again and left them a message to that effect.

Wow, If we actually can get that discount, it might just be worth having it sent up from there and paying shipping and border taxes etc etc. instead of buying local.

I'll see what they say tomorrow.

Thanks for the lead on the exhaust. I pm'd RavensFan79 about it.
Cheers, Andrew

Bob was close on that price:

Just heard back from Bandit. their response is:

The price is 671.61 for the exhaust and shipping would be about 52$ to your address, so the total shipped is 723.61.

Not bad -- better than regular price. I wonder what brokerage and border taxes would be? I've been hit by UPS before big time and I'm a little hesitant to go that route.:confused:
Maybe they could ship USPS........

Hey Colin,

I would expect border taxes to be around $70-100 for that piece. (just from prior experience with UPS as well)
Still a better deal than I got though.....

I got a Borla exhaust from from California in '03 for my G35 and it was about $700! ( I knew the owner -- actually it was Kyle Jester -- owner of G35Driver.com back then) --- UPS charges on that for whatever reason was about $300! .... Got a heck of a deal on the exhaust but damn -- UPS almost wiped out my discount......I was not happy.
Also ordered a 1/25th scale G35 Coupe from the same place. I believe it was about $35 (discounted) --- but DAYUM! > UPS wanted $35 too and that really ****** me off......:shakehead:rolleyes:

I"ve sent to Bandit again and asked about an alternate carrier.

Thanks for the info Andrew. I know you're right on top of shipping and probably handle that stuff daily and you're probably right on here -- but I'm just a little gun shy any more with them. They tend to be a loose cannon with my orders.

Heard back from Bandit :

Unfortunately, it is too big to ship USPS, and we don't have anyone that offers Fedex for it. Any chance you're close enough to Niagara Falls or Detroit? Then there would be no shipping charge then obviously, and you can have it installed in the States and drive across.

I guess Niagara would work -- it's only 90 minutes from me but I have no clue on who to deal with there. and wouldn't be able to keep the OEM exhaust (no biggie really) --- just where to go there??????

Any of our members live there who might know who I could contact?

LOL, apparently whoever was emailing me from Bandit knows you Bob real good .. and had nothing but praise........

He told me to be sure and let him know when I'm ready and he'd work with me on getting mine delivered to somewhere in Niagara for install there with whomever I can arrange.

Bandit sounds like a decent outfit to deal with.

Thanks mucho for the tip Bob --- you saved me some dough on that exhaust. and I think Greg is ordering too :hail:

OK, exhaust went on today with no issues to speak of. Had to cut off the converter and put it on the new Magnaflow system, but it all went smooth for my tech guy and I.

I have a clip of the exhaust on my phone but at the same damn time I was recording all the shop guys decided to f'n talk and hollar at me while recording so the sound clip is blah! I'll do another one this weekend with my wife and I so there will be NO background noise. Couple things though.

1. install was easy, nice quality parts, 3 stainless mufflers and kick ass tips!

2. light rumble at idle, not too aggressive.

3. driving home, felt more peppier as I was doing 65 in 45 really quick. lol!

4. closer to home, it was getting more broke in. Noise level has grown to a "drone" inside the cab, and at take-off and @20-35mph. Idling still does sound good and not too "ricer".

5. @40 mph, and punching it, slight hesitant now. I'm guessing the PCM is relearning to breathe better...least I hope this is what it is.

6. Can guarantee the wife will not like the way it sounds now, but I could be wrong. Only time will tell. lol! "but it is MUCH quieter than the Lightning tho honey." :naughty:

7. I probably should have gone with Corsa tho. I have a feeling its only going to get louder as it breaks in more. I was hoping for the G35 sounding exhaust and if it stays like it is now, I think I just may have that. Like I said, only time will tell.

That's my run down for now. I'll try and get pics up tomorrow and that sound bite this weekend.

That's good news Colin! You will save some big cash on the shipping and duties by doing it this way. I'm sure one of our fellow U.S. members can hook you up in Niagara....
90 minutes from the border isn't that bad. I wish I was closer than 7 hours away :frown: I would cancel my order at the dealership and call up Bandits as well!

Great initial review ****. I'm eager to hear how it sounds. I'm used to a Hemi V8 rumble so I'm hoping that the Magnaflow won't be too loud for my tastes.... Keep us posted! :thankyou:

Yeah that's workable I think if I can find someone who lives there and can lead me to someone at a shop they know.

The exhaust sounds like it might be a little on the loud side and possibly getting louder by ****'s account but the soundclip should be revealing if we can get a listen.

**** sounds fairly happy with it which is what we've experienced with Magnaflow in the past tho his reference to a "G35" exhaust is very familiar to me -- I had a Borla on my '03 Coupe and I must say that for a V6 it was just about perfect: not loud at all but with an authoritative rumble and no drone at all. I doubt the Magnaflow will be near as good as that Borla.

So we'll see. I'm not completely sold on it but the sound clip should reveal enough for me to make a final.

Many thanks to **** for his review on the SHO Magnaflow -- Priceless info for us prospective buyers. :thumb:

Cheers,
C.

Borla on ebay for around $1,150. shipped on buy it now. Bids are at lower level $$$$.
Looked today 3-25-11. (get e-mails from ebay all the time, so thought to check.

Have NO IDEA who is offering this price & their reliability or time frame for shipping.

As for Bandit Exhaust & Magnaflow, I had mine for my 09' G8 in a bit over a week. Shipped the next day, but it takes a while to get things from Las Vegas to Naples.

If you install yourself, my experience was to make sure everything is pushed tight. Everything fit perfectly for me, but some other people who didn't hammer things tight, (use the rubber handle end of hammer if you don't have a rubber mallet) had to trim the pipes which was unnecessary. SHO may be different, but doubt it.

Which ever system you buy, they all sound better than stock - if there is a sound coming from the stock system-!!!!!

Sounds good. I like that :)

You ordered the full Magnaflow setup, correct? I'm considering changing out the muffler (or mufflers... I haven't looked at the exhaust on it) instead of buying a full catback system.

This I'm waiting for (patiently of course) -- seems I do have almost endless patience :)))

I'd love to hear that it is good for 15-20 hp but that's not a deal breaker.
Excess noise, and drone would be since wifey will be driving occasionally.

Enjoy -- and watch out for the man when 'testing'....:3gears:

Well, I finally had a chance to get my Magnaflow exhaust installed yesterday. One of my mechanic friends had a little extra time and a free lift at the end of the day. The install was incredibly easy and only took about 40 minutes.

I've posted some pictures below. Please excuse the filthiness of my car. Right now we are having MASSIVE amounts of snow meltage going on in Edmonton after our 9 months of winter ended. It's impossible to keep a car clean for more than 30 seconds on our roads right now..... :frown:

All-in-all. I'm very pleased with this Magnaflow product. Like I mentioned before, install was a breeze. And the rumble it produces is exactly what I was looking for :)

I will post some sound clips as soon as I get my hands on a camera! :salute:

Next mod....... MOBSTEEL GRILLE! :dribble:
