I have a 1992 with JBL (stock) system and need a new alternator. I went on advanceautoparts.com and they list several different alternators from 90 amps up to 160 amps. Which one do I need? Thanks for your help.

The best/only way to really tell is to take out the old alternator and look at the numbers on it. They should be able to cross-reference it for you. If they can't call the dealership and have them tell you then go get it elsewhere.

P.S. The best solution, IMHO, is to find a local auto electric shop to rebuild your alt for you. That is what I always do. I have had dozens rebuilt and have yet to have one fail.

That's the way to go! Try to fix the one you have and save yourself lots of cash.
