Only problem with that page is that the car is on a drive-on lift with the weight on the wheels. It should be on a frame life with the weight of the wheels on the chassis. This induces a negative camber into the chassis before welding. Once the connectors are welded in and the car is sitting back on it's wheels, it will be preloaded straight.

BTW, those are some cheezy bars. 1x2 box tubing in 18ga isn't all that strong.

Doug, where do you support the car if you use a frame lift? The front "frame rails" and the rear jacking point(where the rear tension rod attaches to the body) are where the SFCs are welded too, and also where the frame lift would go.

That car in the how-to definitely needed a new rear main seal!!

Where do you lift it from if you use a frame lift and want to weld on the SFCs? The rear of the subframe and those rear tension rod boxes are where they usually lift mine from when I get tires, but then you can't weld in the bars? Obviously you've done this.. tell me.. :nut:

No answer from Doug, but my only guess is that he put the subframe connectors against the car and then lifts the car on the frame lift. Connectors are held in place and can be welded.

If a shop aligns your car with all four tires on the ground and the full weight of the car on them, I would think it makes the most sense to weld the subframe connectors on when the weight of the car is on all four wheels. Then again the idea of a "straight" body is appealing, but I would think a new alignment would be necessary since now the body is different from when the initial alignment was done. Probably 6 and .5 dozen.
