as stated in title. i've done some searching with not too much luck. can i mount my nozzle in the intake after the MAF like most applications? my reason for asking, is when searching i read about tapping into the TB. second, i know the bottle best belongs in the trunk, but i was hoping to get everyone's 2 cents on best placement in there. nozzle and bottle mount pics would be great. thanks sho forum!

this is how i did my zex , i also installed a double pull switch that i put in my center console that if fliped one way my horn buttons are my horn and fliped the other way my horn buttons are my zex trigger . the reson i did this was to hide my trigger and control my zex instead of it coming on at wot and hopefully being a little easyer on my clutch.

Bottle is in the trunk (drivers side). Nozzle is post MAF now. I did have it mounted to the MAF housing(I have a 75mm MAF-stock may not work) at one point, but the threads stripped... so I just popped a hole in the intake tube and stuck it on in... Been running it that way ever since (3 bottles).

Justin, did you modify your bottles' pick up tube?? Why is it on it's side?

I have the aliminum nozzle tapped into my throttle body. It can't work loose like when you mount it in the rubber intake tube.
My arming switch is in my ash tray.
My bottle is on the driver's side of the trunk.

You can drill and tap a hole in your throttle body for the nozzle. That's how I had my 91 set up. When it comes to the bottle, place it like Justin has his. It is important that the bottom of the bottle be toward the back of the car so when you take off the nitrous in the bottle goes to the back/bottom of the bottle rather than to the side of the bottle. You'll keep more steady pressure that way.

Edit: My setup was a Nitrous Oxide Systems setup. I've never worked with a Zex kit before so I'm not sure about the specifics on that particular system. If you haven't purchased a kit yet the Zex kit is by far the easiest to set up to my understanding. Simplicity is good.

Edit edit: I think I still have a couple extra throttle bodies that are drilled/tapped. If you need one PM me and I'll take a look to see if I still have them.

What I was getting at as far as the bottle question goes, is that the bottle has to be mounted label up. Atleast that's the way it describes the NOS kit, and many others as well. Not sure if the pick-up tube in the Zex bottle is curved like the other tubes are, you would think it would be.

NOS does not make a kit for the SHO anymore (even though they still have it in the listing...), but you can use the Stg.1 Mustang kit (75shot kit).

Atleast AFAIK, they may have started selling it again.

Nope... just had modify the micro-switch a bit to fit the throttle body. But other than that, it's straight forward.

If you have any questions PM me. :thumb:

Ya know, I don't remember if it made a difference with label up or label down though I do seem to remember the label being up. *scratches head* :)

NOS has a PDF version of their user manual online for download. That would probably be the best source for information in that. :thumb:

Well, I know how the NOS/NX bottles mount... but i'm not sure on the Zex bottles. I'm assuming that it's an industry standard though(unless modified).

The label should be facing "up" unless the feed tube inside the bottle has been turned.

If you want to experimate with nitrous on the cheap, buy a used kit of ebay. You can save about half of your money.
I bought mine for $380 shipped.;)
