Or it could go to that HVAC heat switch on one of the heater hose lines...

I'm guessing this one - we should be able to see the temp sensor in that photo, but it looks like that heater hose line with the sensor has been replaced with a hose and the sensor no longer exists.

-yes you guys are right. it is the temp lock out switch in the hose. black and yellow wire. i spent enough time pulling those out of the harness. i forgot they use the same connector.......:nut:

Ok what is that for and should I worry about it? The car has the heater core bypassed if that is at all related.

That switch tells the EATC when the coolant is hot enough to increase the blower speed. Since your heater core is bypassed, don't worry about it since you have no heat anyway....

Ok so once I put a heater core in this thing, does that mean that the heat won't work properly?

No it will still work. If you want to return it to the stock set up go to a junk yard and yank the heater lines from a SHO and that sensor should be screwed into one of those two lines. Then all you would have to do is plug the connector back in.

All that does is tell the eatc when its warm to start the blower when ots on auto heat. That way when you fire the car you dont get blasted with cold air! Your fine to leave it out.

Just make sure you don't plug that rascal into your secondary solenoid. Yes it is the same connector and no, I won't tell how expensive it was to discover. (read, new x2j!) :brainfart:
