Im in the middle of a 3.2 swap and i have come to a group of connectors that i have no idea where they go. The wires come off the main engine harness right before the ccrm module connector. One of the connectors is black and red(4 pins i believe and a fairly large connector). The engine harness was missing when i got the 94 atx. Does anyone have a schematic for the body and engine harness for a 94 atx? I think im missing some harness. Also, i have no idea where my 3 pin alternator plug is located on the harness's, i cant seem to locate it(another reason why i think im missing harness wiring some where).any help would be greatly appreciated.

What you need to do is salvage the engine wire harness off the 3.0 and install it on the 3.2. The 3.2 harness is different in several ways that will just make you crazy to re-wire it.

ive got a 3.0l harness off my 89, but i dont have manuals to cross reference wires to my 94 ATX wiring.

are you putting the 94 3.2 into your 89 car? if so, take all the wiring off the 3.2, and install your 3.0 harness on the 3.2. you won't have to do any cross-referencing at all since it will all just plug in like it should, and your job will be easy and you would already be done if you had done it two days ago when i first suggested it.

This.

Otherwise you're in for quite the nightmare.

Oh, and keep the 3.2L injectors installed.

no man, due to previous owners of the 89 the a##holes cut a chunk out of the unibody to replace the subframe bolts and the body cracked from where they did it. im using a mint condition 94 and i have completed all the mechanical(yes, i kept the 3.2l injectors) and i have already rewired everything accept the wires in the pics, i just need to findout what these wires are then im done. 2nd pic down i believe that 2 of the wires are the oil level sensor plug and the other attachs to the regulator on the starter. still dont know what the red one is though. Is it maybe where the alternator wire attaches to or are those the 2 plugs located right above the rad on the left (looking at the front of the car)? Does anyone have wiring diagrams from a helms or anything(for a 94)? Ihave for the 89 but alot of stuff changed.

Well, since you are committed to doing this the hard way, lets see if we can help you.....

The above photo looks to show the connector to the front radiator crash sensor (the white connector) and the connector to the alternator. Yup, the 'old' mtx alternator has a 2 pin connector and the 'new' atx harness has a 3 pin connector. the center pin is not used.

You will also have connectors to abs stuff that is different or missing on the 89.

The 94 wiring will have connections for a high pressure cutoff switch on the a/c that does not exist on the 89, as well as having the low pressure / cycling switch for the a/c back by the firewall rather than up by the radiator.

That big red connector does not look like anything i recall from all my swap work.

the black plug im assuming is what you are refering to as the alternator plug, but it is not the right plug for even the original alternator for the 94 unless there is an adapter harness that plugs in (plugs too small and wont reach either).

That single pin connector looks like it is coil pack related...

Been soo long since I crawled around under my hood though...
