Looking to get some good 17x7 / 17x8 wheels that are good looking, low profile, 5 spoke and light weight. Kind of like the Crono HT's but I'm open to suggestions for anything cheaper. ( around 15lbs? )

A 15 LB 17'' wheels is going to be pricey. If you can deal with a 6 spoke wheel I suggest some Enkei 0R52's. They can be had for 79 a peice (In 17x7)brand new and weigh 17 pounds.

more rubber, more HP.....
17x8's are the only way to go. . . :)

As far as I know, crono ht's are the lightest 17x8's currently available (19 lbs).
I've looked hi and lo for o.z superleggera's in 17x8 which are just 15-16 lbs. but they are nowhere to be found. The 17x8 Team Dynamics PR 1.2 are 20 lbs. and a little cheaper, but they are ugly as all ****.

Centerline Storms (link here) in 17x7 are also about as light as you can get (15-16 lbs), but they don't come in 17x8, and the offset of 42mm puts the rim too far inside the wheel well IMHO. They're also more expensive than the crono ht's.

Those aren't too bad looking there Sam. For $79 apiece I think that can be forgiven. Where in the **** did you get them? They would look allot better in black with the lips left machined. Still looking for the perfect light weight 17-18" wheels to help drop my new 89' below the magic 3000Lb number when dry.

I could have got them black with the polished lip but was unsure on how that would have looked. I figured you cant go wrong with a Silver wheel on a Silver car so I played it safe and was darn happy with the results! :)

Scroll down a bit. They were 89 Bucks a wheel, My mistake! They normally go for 170 a wheel. :type:

Hey shospazz (Sam right?) What size tire are you running? I had 17x8 with 235/45/17... Due to an auto accident Im now in the market for new wheels & tires and Im wondering how much more bubble (on the sidewall) a 235/45/17 would have on a 17x7 wheel.

Hey man, my tires are 235/45/17. Hardly any "bubble."

A 17x7 is really too narrow for a 235/45-17, most OE 235/45-17 installations are 17x8 and I think 7.5in is the narrowest tire-mfr recommended rim width.

I'm running a one-of-a-kind, third-hand, welded-a-couple-of-times, straightened-and-refinished set of 17x7.5 ROH ZR6s - they're straight, not too heavy, not too light. Right now they've got a set of 235/45-17 Bridgestone S-03PPs on them and they are, as I noted, about the narrowest wheels I'd put those tires on.

Got a set of 17x8 Ronal R41s on the shelf, a little lighter, haven't had them mounted yet.
