I just had new tire put on them today, 245/45-17's. I checked for clearance with the best of the old tires, and they were close to the strut, but not touching. The new tires do, and only in the back. I'm not surprised, nor upset. I was kind of expecting it, as that is how this car treats me...

At any rate, I'm looking for two spacers. Anyone know of a good source, or have a couple sitting on the shelf. I've got a WTB ad up already, but I'd kinda like these things yesterday.:nut:

I've already rolled the fenders, but I'll probably have more to do after this.

I WANT MY NEW WHEELS!!!!!

FWIW, after I had the coilovers installed I had the MM M-11s on the car and they only rubbed in the rear even with 225 tires. 245 is a pretty wide tire anyways, but I would think something around an 1/8" spacer would probably be alright.

That's what I was thinking. 3-4 mm's or something like that. I also read that the studs should be replaced with longer ones.

Is 3-4mm going to require that? If so, are there sources for them?

The only reason they rubbed on Steve's car is the coilover mount itself. You can run to AZ and buy a 3/16" shim IIRC. Thats if you need it.

VIVA Performance has 5,10 and 15mm spacers that will fit. Same ones as the 01+ S60. GREAT guy to deal with. Fast shipping and great communication. He is highly respected in the R world as a vendor.

the volvo has a bigger hub bore so it really doesnt matter. they have them on ebay and summitracing.com

they arent wheel specific. they are bolt pattern, hub size specific.

There is no sense in buying hub centric spacers then, on the wheel side its not and issue because you can just get spacers for a volvo but on the hub side it wont be properly aligned so you might as well have a universal wheel spacer because they're a lot cheaper.

Ideally when using wheel spacers you want them to be hubcentric, but since the volvo hub isnt the same diameter as the taurus it would be a waste to spend $70 on volvo wheel spacers that are hubcentric because you would also need to get different hub adapter if at all possible, do the wheels have plastic of metal rings or is the hub the right size for a taurus ?

edit: heres a link to explain what i am talking about, http://www.miata.net/garage/hubcentric.html
