I'm somewhat perplexed, I've replaced the passenger side front wheel bearing hub twice, and it is yet again in need of replacing. I'm not sure how it could be an error on my part as I've installed wheel bearings on my other taurus years ago and have not had similar issues. any ideas?

Any chance you're using a cheapo brand of wheel bearing/hub assembly like Parts Master, etc.? They have a tendency to be pieces of crap. I recall one car where it took 3 or 4 tries to get a good one.

Easiest way to tell is by the wheel studs; if they're just threaded right to the end then it's a cheapo. The National/Timken units have a ~3/8" shoulder at the end of the studs, just like the factory units.

Along with what Mr. A (complete that last letter however you want :) said)..

Are you certain your threads on the axle are bottoming the nut (and washer) on the wheel bearing? If you have messed up threads on your axle or nut, then you aren't getting the axle nut torque tight enough and the bearing will not stay together.

Torque spec is insanely high (250+ or so IIRC), and the nut "should" be replaced every time it is removed. Autozone sells replacement nuts for like 2.99 or so - you'll have to ask for it at the counter.

Ditto on 2 previous posts. Make sure bearing replacements are high quality units. Cheap Chinese parts are known for very poor quality specs and materials (very poor metallurgy).
