Youll need new valve cover and spark plug ring gaskets, and intake gaskets too i believe, new spark plugs and new wires.[This issue needs to be addressed before all]If your valve shims havent been adjusted ,might as well do that while shes opened up.

Back in Michigan ... again.
LOL...I was about to say WHAT???? If a spark plug came out of the head then you have more problems than just plugs & wires eek!

It's likely that the wire just wasn't pushed on tight. Oil in the plug wells is a common problem on the SHO; it won't **** the engine or anything but it will eventually ruin the plugs/wires, so if money is tight you can let it slide for awhile. Like the others said, replacing plugs/wires and plug well seals means taking the intake & cam covers off, the only thing left on the upper 60k is the valve lash and with everything open it's just a matter of measuring the gap, pulling shims and replacing as needed.

no, not the same. the plug well seals actually seal off the hole where you put the sparkplugs to keep oil from getting into them, there are 6 total, one for each plug. they look like o-rings more or less. the valve cover gaskets only go around the outer edge of the valve covers (2 total, one for each cover) although they usually all come together in the same set.

Now the spark plug wire boots have their own seal that keeps foreign objects out of the deep plug wells. The square ****** on the spark plug boot is a seal to prevent dirt and moisture from gettin down inside the wells. Those are different than the plug well oil seals which are the round, rubber covered steel seals that are visible about 1/2" below the surface of the valve cover inside the plug well. You must remove the spark plug boot to see these (and the plugs).

The best source for the plug well seals is in the Fel-Pro VS50378R seal set that includes the six spark plug well seals and the two valve cover gasket seals. This set is cheapest from AutoZone.com for $71.99. You may have to look it up on their website (autozone.com) for a 1991 SHO since it is not listed for the later model year SHOs.
