whats that thing behind back seat in trunk?

so I'm not the hippest car stero/ electronics guy in the world....but...
Is this a radio amp?
Its mounted to the rear seat back.
Looks like an amp of some type or booster?

It could be one of several potential amps or amybe you're looking at the enclosed subwoofer. There were a few stereo options but they all used an amp of some kind.

Yes, my 91 has 2 amps from the factory (i added one more) One amp controls the subs and the other controls the interior speakers.

I think it could be related to the keyless remote/power locks. Looking in the trunk I think its on the left hand side behind the passenger's seat.

If it's the small black plastic box on hte upper side of the rear seat, it is the keyless entry modual. Even if you don't have the keyless entry, your car will have one. Mine does.
