My 91 has a bad knock. Just went and looked at a 90 on cl. The 90 has 158k paint is faded but thats it. Seats look good, inside looks good. only problem is after running for awile whe it warms up it dies. You have to wait untill it cools down to start it again. What could be wrong and how hard to fix. They say they just did the crank sensor. Now i dont have access to the car now.

sounds like they should have replaced the water pump with the crank sensor. coolant leaking from the water pump shorts out the crank sensor causing the car to stall and not start for about 30-45 minutes... i'd bet if you pulled a plug boot off it would be soaked in oil as well meaning the car is in need of a 60k.

Could be a cam sensor. WIthout more details, hard to know. Paint can be brought back from the dead to look quite good, if you know what you are doing and use some good product. If the no run fix is easy and cheap, and the car is a good price, why not? HOw much are they asking?

they were asking $1000 but we talked him down to $500...he knows that we are the only group around here who knows anything about these cars so he knew that if we didn't buy it he would have to give it away. his dad told him to get it off of his property! lol

Buy the 90 and fix the knock in your 91. That way you can start a breeding program and get a whole herd of them.

Where is your knocking and do you know what it is?

if the oil pressure light comes on at idle it's the rod bearings. if it doesn't then it has a misfire...
