What year do you guys prefer??? Id like to get a Black or Green 99. Also, i see vids on You tube with exhaust work. Do they have res. like the V6 SHO's?? I like the green one i saw on youtube with just strait pipes and big tips.

1999's have the darkest Grey interior you can get for a Gen III. I like it matched with my Silver Frost exterior. I dislike the 96-97 tail lights, but those are easily changed. I also dislike the map pockets on the doors and back of the front seats on the 96-98's. So for that matter, the 99 was a perfect fit for me.

And I have Borla Stainless Steel mufflers installed, with the factory tips opened up.

God I miss summer. This freezing rain/snow stuff is ********...

I need to get a new sound clip somehow of my car. The 3" single exhaust is just great sounding. Better than what I had though a bit loud for most I would assume.

If I had a GenIII it would have an open Y-pipe the whole time of ownership....

Is it louder than that Paul?? If it is.... sign me up.... :nut:

No not that loud. I drove to work onetime (~20 miles) with the catback disconnected. Never again.

I've listened to the videos with the cut out, and I drove my 1979 Dodge Diplomat one time with the exhaust cut off under the floor. That was pretty loud too. But I don't think I could deal with what jvanburen had on here with the true dual catless exhaust.

Loud is cool, until you take a long trip and cuss at it the entire way their. My Diplomat got that way even after I welded the exhaust all back together. 318 - No Cat - Glass Pack = lots of noise down the road. Gets old...

i have all 3 cats in place right now and i cut off the mufflers

i have pipe from the rear y to almost the back bumper (trying to find the perfect tips)

i absolutely love the deep LOUD v8 rumble
its pretty loud but honestly its alot quieter than when i had nothing from the flexpipe back (no 3rd cat)

ill get some pictures up soon and a sound clip if anyone wants to hear it.

once i get the tips on and the exhaust is completey out the back of the car the interior noise will lessen a little bit bc of it not resonating inside the trunk.

96's are WAY best. My BEST 96 (I got 3) has 99 turn signals up front. 98/99 cup holder. 97 door skins with nets that have 96 opera lights installed. And an M 90 supercharger with a tranny that seems to be handling it.
I plan on trying a new exhaust approach with it - leave the factory mufflers and resonator and gut just the 3 converters. I've got spare converters to pass emissions with, so that's not a big deal. I WILL need a new tune after that, I'm sure. Maybe a trip to Atlanta for some serious dyno time and BEERS.

Anyhow. I also played a bit with the V8 exhaust. I blew mine out the side, in front of the driver's side rear tire.

So, that settles it, the '96 is the best as soon as you install parts from all the others... ;)
