4 grand? Once the vette sells, proceeds from that goes to the SHO. Its a 2014, with 115,000 miles, non PP. I already changed all the gear oils, and will change again once I put at least another 2,000 miles on it. Catch can is happening this summer, and torque mount too, regardless of vette sale.

My goals...500 hp on the motor...so, 430 whp. Not going to track it ever, that chapter of my life is over, and I've got enough cheap trophies. But I want a reliable (ish?) semi daily driver (I commute 60 miles per day, half back roads, half highway) that pulls hard, and doesn't handle as bad as it currently does. I have a dedicated daily driver, so if this car tanks, its not the end of the world...but I'll be pretty upset.

My thoughts...

1. H and R springs - For the non pp owners, how did this affect handling? Turn in response? Hard to believe there are no more comprehensive kits out there, but whatever.

2. PPE down pipes. There goes half the budget, lol! But, which catch can works with these down pipes? I don't like having to make my own "solutions", because I tend to make things worse before better...There's a reason I'm not an auto engineer.

3. 93 octane tune from gearhead, and no, I can't do the e30, no gas stations sell the e85 in CT. I do however have ready access to 97 octane.

Question...down pipes or gearhead intercooler?

If you had it all to do over again...what would you do?

How much do you like the car? If the motor blows are you going to get another one or fix that one?

If you like the car enough that the answer would be yes, I would get an upgraded HPFP first. Even if you don't run E30, it still gives you noticeable gains on 93 over the stock HPFP. It's also extremely quick and easy to swap back if you did end up getting a slightly newer SHO. I would probably go with intercooler first and then downpipes after that.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I've followed along on a few threads...swapping that motor is pretty crazy. I don't have the space, I don't think. No engine stand or cherry picker, either.

I think the most I could handle as a DIYer, is swapping turbos, when they fail.

If you can do the turbos then any mod you get would be easier than that. Most of them you can sell for easily over half what you pay for them (aside from a catback), so if you ever did decide to move on to another vehicle you could recoup a good bit of your cost. This is my 2nd SHO and if something happened to my current car I would just get another one and move the mods over, so I just look at it as a small price to pay per month of ownership for each mod. The only thing I regret is the catback. Sounds great at startup, but it was a hefty price to pay for that and sounding like a tricked out Honda any time I'm driving it.

The H&R’s make a significant improvement in handling. I also installed the fronts on new PP struts. Far less body roll and much more planted feeling. Still turns in like a hog but... it is.

Since you’ll be months out on the GH intercooler I'd just get on the list and get the downpipes for now. You’re gonna want them anyway.

Handling is great and with 275 my SHO feels glued to the ground.
Looks awesome, the lowered stance.
Rides like ****. I absolutely hate how bumpy it is but the previous two make me forget about this one (sometimes)...

One question about the PPE catted down pipes...

Will I pass emissions with these? When I went to order them, they had a disclaimer about not being road legal...

There isnt any different. Buy them from Vivid. I am local to both if you run into an shipping issues.

One more question...I asked around with some buddies of mine...apparently, in CT, they don't do a sniff test at emissions...they just scan for codes with ob2.

If I go...catless...will that throw any sort of code?
