What to Buy?

I bought a Ruby Red with the PP last week. All Fords at our dealership come with dark tinted windows. I think it looks great. So far I am very, very happy! Had to drive the Dodge today so Hubby could take it to work and I already miss it! I think the first mods will be to get rid of some of the chrome with paint.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all the input. I have a Dodge right now and though I love my HEMI, I really don't want another Dodge. Hubby won't buy from companies that took the bail-out. Had a BMW, replacing the windshield from all the rocks around here put a giant flag on my insurance. It was nice, but very expensive. We live in Phoenix but we frequent Prescott, and sometimes Flagstaff, where it snows. We did have "snow" in north Phoenix twice this year, but mostly it was just a little slushy here and there. The windows will be tinted dark as it's a little warm here in the summer.

I like the SHO and the luxury features you cannot get with a vehicle like the Mustang. That's my trade. I don't know if I can go from a SUV to a 2-door. As-is it has more hp than most 4-doors. I think I am going to drive it as is for a while like someone suggested. I am sure when my son gets stationed closer this summer, I will hear non-stop about all the mods he wants me to make to it.

Looks like you're not too far from me, I live in Ahwatukee, the SHO will make a nice ride and there's a couple of us that hang out, if you get your ride let me know and we can meet up at the pavillions. BTW, my wife and I are getting close to being empty nesters. We have a Senior, Junior and Freshie all going to Desert Vista HS. I'm both sad and looking forward to life 2.0 in 3 years!

Oughta love the SHO, as much as you loved your Dodge. Both good cars, each in their own right(s).

Keep the community posted as your mod list expands, and yes, de-chroming the car would be on par with what a lot of us have done to ours.

Speaking of missing the Dodge...... I still miss mine to this day.

I would concur, & add since I am currently the only one running completely catless at this point, along with an X-pipe and high flow mufflers (Thanks Kirk @ NESHO ) mine sounds pretty damn good for a turbo application V6.....

About time you jumped on the band wagon.

Better late than never.....

Still was the 1st, and only one to have a completely hand built set-up from the turbo outlets, to the the tails. Including 1st to run catless on the latest Gen platform.

Glad to see others jumping in on the exhaust mods though, and it's nice to have vendors like PPE & LMS fabricating them for larger volume(s) of sales.

if you buy a 2013 with the pp then there is no spare tire as it wont fit in the trunk well you get a compressor and repair kit that is only good for nail type punchures more damage will leave you looking for a tow

I have a 2013 and was told that the only rims or mags that will fit have to be over 20 inch to allow for the brake calipers and rotors

The non-PP 2013's have an 18" spare. I'm guessing that should fit on a PP car too. I believe the calipers and rotors are the same between the PP and non-PP cars, but the PP cars have more aggressive brake pads

The 18" will probably fit, but the PP now gets the police pkg brakes, which are larger than the standard Taurus or SHO brakes.

Previously before 2013 brake upgrade, you could install 17" wheels. Would guess you could find an 18" wheel that would fit, but it would be trial and error, and offset may make a difference.

I know others here have the same feelings on the bail-out. Whatever. It's too bad as those companies are rolling out some of the best cars the Americans have ever made.

Personally, I'll look for the best car available. No matter the make.

Some of those guys not buying GM are the ones driving cars built by people whose ancestors did much more atrocious things than taking government money. It's all a farce.

Right on Jim. And remember, at least with GM the profits stay here in the US. I also love my SHO but I will look at the new Chevy SS when they arrive at dealers. That Vette engine with RWD sounds like a super package and based on EcoBob's experience and comments about his G8's, it may be a real sweet ride.

So for the guys owning 10's thru 12's, would they be able to go to any auto parts store and upgrade to the 13' PP braking components(i.e. - rotors, calipers, pads)? If so, that would be a very economical upgrade IMO.

WRONG.. lots of different parts. However, you can get different rotors and pads for the earlier SHO's and have brakes adequate for almost all conditions.
