Well sometimes my car takes a while to fire up, it turns ovet, just wont fire, so I know it is relating to my intake, I am useing the same intae from my old engine, and it is still doing it, so that means its not the CPS, so I dont thing I am getting the BEST contact with the DIS... what kind of grease do I use on this? Thanks guys

It is actually supposed to be heat sink compound to thermally couple the DIS to the cooler intake. You can get this grease in very small (.23 oz.) tubes at Radio Shack in the soldering equipment section. One tube will do about 4 DIS mountings. If the problem with your car starting was the DIS module's ground, your engine wouldn't run properly either.

How do you know it's your intake? Have you verified that the fuel pressure is not bleeding off after the engine is shut down? Try this: turn the ignition key to the ON position and listen to the fuel pump. Is the pitch of the pump steady or does it decrease over the 1.5 seconds that it runs? If the pitch changes, either the check valve in the fuel pump or the pressure regulator in the fuel rail is allowing the pressure to bleed off. If this is the case, you should be able to start the engine easily if you let the pump prime for the 1.5 seconds before you turn the key to START.

Cleane the dielectric grease off and reapply some heatsink compound (looks the same, found in Radio Shack like sdpatt said) and try it again... Dielectric grease is a moisture barrier for contacts so it's sort of an insulator.. that might be the problem.

You should only use a very VERY tiny ammount because the only thing heatsink compound is supposd to do is displace the air between two pieces of metal by filling the microscopic pores in the surface. You should spread on a VERY thin (less than 1mm) layer of it with a business card and then torque the DIS down to spec (something like 3-4 ft-lbs or less, not sure, look it up).

It has to be something with the intake because this is my new 94 engine, and my old 93 intake, and the problem still persists... SO this was just a hunch...The fuel pump has a steady sound for the 2 seconds it is priming. Well, I guess I will find out if it still does it after I put some of that heat sink grease on there.. Thanks again!

Do you have the ground strap attached to the rear, passenger side upper intake bracket bolt? Are the two 12mm bolts that secure the intake's crossover tube brackets torqued? Without a good ground to the DIS, the engine will not work properly.

Is the tach bouncing while cranking? Have you chacked to see if it has spark?
