what is this wires behind the grill?

what is this for? its under the hood release and behind the grill ,

some kinda wire thing ,

That is the outside tempature sensor for the EATC when you hit the "outside temp" button thats what it reads from.

ah thanx , maybe it needs adjusted somehow , its 29 out here and it says in the car taht outside it 39

Is that with the engine running (or warm) and when the vehicle is not in motion? Heat from the engine will increase the temperature measured by the exterior temperature sensor. It is designed to provide a temperature reading with the vehicle in motion which minimizes the influence of heat from the engine.

Well, in that case, I wouldn't think there'd be much heat coming from the engine. wink Like you said, perhaps your exterior temperature sensor needs replacement.

I would suspect corrosion at the plug. As the resistnce goes up so does the temp reading. Usually these things are very reliable and last forever.

That's a good point. My temperature reading used to be way off when it was raining or damp out. I cleaned up the sensor/harness connector interface and added some dielectric grease. It has worked flawlessly since.
