What is this? And what is the difference?

In my '89, there is a component mounted right next to the upper radiator hose. I think it may be a part of the evap. system, but I'm not sure. But on my '90, I found very loosely secured to the subframe. I just don't think it is supposed to be bracketed there.

So what is it? And where is it supposed to be on the '90? I don't see where it is supposed to mount.
It has two hoses that run to the firewall. One hose runs through the firewall; the other connects to a vacuum T that shortly runs in to another vacuum T with four ******* on it labeled S, B/P, S/C, B/B. The hose that connects to the component runs to the one labeled S/C. So what is S/C? And where do the hoses run to?

Also, the '90 has a computer mounted directly in front beside the radiator whereas my '89 does not seem to have one. Can anyone explain the differences in the two?

they are supposed to be mounted on the inside of the left rail of the unibody, not up on the radiator support.

In the '90 or the '89? I assume you are talking about the '90.
So it mounts under the filter box to the uni?

'89s are a little funky. I don't have much experience with them, but there's a chance the cruise control is mounted to the core support from the factory.

'90-'95 MTX cars have it bolted to the front of the subframe, on the driver's side, along with the power steering cooler. '90+ also got ABS, which is the computer you were asking about, which is likely why the location of the cruise control changed.

Okay I gotcha. Thanks guys. I guess whoever worked under there lately was just a lazy ass. I am findi issue after issue.

I bought the car from an old lady who could no longer drive it, so I hopped on it. This SHO is in rough shape.
