Hey Everyone,

So, I've had this 2018 Explorer engine (30K Miles on it) swapped into my 2010 Ford Taurus SHO.. After Day 2 of having it back it developed this noise. The car has ZERO codes on it other than a heated PCV code (swapped it for non-heated when I was troubleshooting old motor). It does feel like the only difference in the car is it'll pull to the left if you punch it. There has been no drivability issues whatsoever. Oil and coolant look fine... The guy who swapped in the motor has been dodging me at looking at it. This noise occurs over 1,100RPM while stationary AND moving. Please god someone have an answer.

Something that spins with the engine. Hopefully on the belt drive. Like ac pump bearings or alternator or pulley. I dont think its the engine, a sound like that from an engine stops after you punch it when the block or timing cover breaks. Almost sounds like something at the flexplate. Beats me but have someone under it while you rev it to narrow it down. Stethoscope helps to make sure it isnt the engine or tra nny

I appreciate it, I'm being told it's one of the turbos. Getting a manifold fabbed and just slapping on a big turbo, guess we'll see what happens..

@Deezuz @yaycandy Thank you guys for the help. I hadn't bother checking myself because it clearly sounded mechanical. After having 2 separate tech's looking at it I went under the car today and found the exhaust bolts missing. For a guy who's been working on cars for 15+ years I feel awfully foolish. Such a strange noise to come from an exhaust. Thank you guys!
