I recently purchased a 2011 sho (non-PP) and a few days later the engine blew out of it before I got to even enjoy it. The used engine market for another engine is right around 2,800$ for a 150K engine. I looked into getting a fresh crate engine but they are charging right around 5700 without shipping or any other fees. I have been reading on the form and have seen some information on swapping into a new year 2013+. I'm curious if someone has done a 2017 explorer police package ( has oil cooler) into an early model sho. I can get a 2017 police explorer engine with low milage for around 2,800. This seems to be my only option to revive the sho in a somewhat reasonable manner. I want to keep this on somewhat of a budget. I will not be doing the swap myself because I'm not skilled enough to do so or have access to the proper tools. I would appreciate any help this form has to give me on what action I should take.
