I am curious what the function of the sunload sensor is, I did my heater core a few years ago and I just recenlty realized I forgot to plug it in when I reinstalled my dash. I never noticed anything acting differently with it not plugged in.:munch:

Auto lamps require it to function

Negative, you're thinking of the autolamp sensor. He's talking about the one on the passenger side.

This sensor works in conjunction with the in-cabin temp sensor to set fan level while in AUTO. If the sunload sensor detects high sunlight conditions, it will force the EATC to put the fan at a higher level than would otherwise be necessary to maintain cabin temperature to compensate for the heating effects of the sun.

Not really necessary, but probably couldn't hurt.

Isnt the exterior temp sensor tied into the EATC as well? I remember every time I washed my car that sensor would short out (read -40F) and it would cause my EATC to go full heater at any temp setting other than '60'

Not sure what year op is talking about, but The Gen 1 autolamp sensor is on pass side under speaker cover.

judging by what he's saying, i'm gonna guess it's a gen II. that sensor works in conjunction with the outside temp sensor behind the grill and the cabin temp sensor behind your SHO badge in your dash to make you feel comfortable when every part of your HVAC system's working correctly.

Yes he has a '95, I just looked through his posts. A 95 ATX with a SHOSource UDP.

I've never had a problem with mine. Even after having the dash pulled in a snow covered driveway and only half-assed installed, they still work, just fine.
