Hi guys and gals. New to the forum. I have a 1989 SHO that I love. I also have a complete engine and trans, a 3.0 mtx mileage unknown. Looking to swap into something lighter than a taurus. Preferably a small lightweight two door car. What are your thoughts? What do you want to see me put it in? Nothing is too far fetched just want to do a cool swap. Any ideas on what would be a neat 2 dr sleeper? Tempo? Festiva? The wackier the better, let me hear your thoughts!

But the Mazda RX7 was the easier route for me.

Contour is a bit heavy at about 3100, I would love a miata but I can get a junk probe for cheap right now. That's about 2600lb with engine! Maybe

I'm considering a rear engine design with modified trans axle to keep transverse mount. Easy drop in is always a vw beetle

Noble M-12 or M400 (currently uses a V6 Duratec but can be ordered as a roller ;-)

On your comment of rear engine traverse, search this site and elsewhere for SHOgun and (and the related Fastiva) should there be any Festiva's left in Montana. No one has done it with the far more modern Gen III or Gen IV (04-07) subframe, hint hint.

Ooooo! A street legal dune buggy would be fun.

But seriously, if you want to build something different AND super quick, use an automatic SHO drive train in the back of a running automatic SHO. Twin engines and being auto matics the engines wont have to be synchronized. They'll act independantly and only have to move 1600 pounds apiece.
