At this point I'm pretty set on buying one, anything I should know before officially getting into this car ?
I'm looking for any useful information, things like "I wish someone told me *** before I bought my SHO," be as general or specific as you like.

Thanks guys!

Be ready to have it consume your life. I thought I was just buying a car, but this car has made me feel like a ******. I bought mine in January of 2015 after six months of searching for the right deal. First it was fixing the peeling chrome on the tail lights, then it was painting the chrome wheels black. Next thing you know I'm paying bunch of money for a tune and cold air intake. If I remember right, the next thing I did was tint the headlights. A few months after that I discovered the wonderful 3 BAR map sensor, which also brought me shame for not buying that when I originally got the tune.

I was clean for just over a year. A little over a month ago I relapsed and bought downpipes.

I just want to drive my car all the time. When I'm inside the house at night, I'm either on the internet looking for various things about the SHO, or I'm sitting on the couch thinking up reasons to leave the house so I can drive it. I've had a lot of cars in my life, this is the first I've kept for over a year and a half. My next car will be the exact same thing except a few years newer and it will have massaging seats.

It's pretty much awesome. I've had a problem with my tail lights and getting condensation build up but that's it. Make sure you look really close at the paint job, mine had a couple bubbles in it but since it came like that they just put it under warranty.

Well put! I love my car and I drive it every chance I get. Every weekend I do something to it. My wife used to say, "Are you on that forum, reading, again?!" She loves it too, though. Just have fun with it. They're great cars

I love my SHO.. Going on a year of ownership 10,000 miles tuned from about 1,000 miles.. All I can say
these car have a lot of options, choose the ones you want, PP or NON.. The tires you want if its a DD,
and so on.. I went with low options, just a nav. non pp.. all season tires.. Good luck with the search..

When I bought my 2013 in 2015 I was only looking for a nice SHO. The fact that it also had Adaptive Cruise Control and Multi-Contour (massaging) seats, was a bonus. However, now I would not own a car without ACC. I would be less concerned with mileage, and more focused on maintenance history. Both my 31k mile SHO, and the 69k mile 2013 EB Flex I found for my daughter last year, had very full dealer service histories. My daughter just drove cross-country, pulling a U-Haul trailer, with no more trouble than a failing battery. My SHO also needed a new battery last year, so be prepared for that eventuality. Upgrades and tunes are not mandatory to have FUN driving an SHO. Mine is totally stock. :) Sport mode is your friend.

If buying from a dealer have them give you a copy of the Oasis report showing all dealer performed service history and also a list of options (RPO code build sheet). I may be bias, but I'd hold out for one that's PP equipped, I'm also a fan of the Sony premium sound package. Get the usual car fax and if used, you can ask if it was purchased at auction and ask for the auction grade report.

Would you consider the modifications you performed on the car to be something that can be done on your own, or do you recommend bringing it into a shop?

The only thing I did not do myself were the downpipes. I took the car to two different exhaust places, neither wanted any part of doing them. I ended up having a guy I work with do them for me. He has a very extensive tool set, but that's about the only thing that I would say you would need to be more than slightly competent mechanically to do yourself.

Look for a left over on the dealer lot. They tend to discount them significantly once they have been on the dealer lot for 12 months or more(By law, at least in Texas, they must sell as used after 12 months). I bought my 2015 with 450 demo miles on it that way back in late February. They sold it to me for 17.7k off the MSRP. I was shocked as I had just driven a 2016 with 250 miles on it at another dealer a few weeks earlier and they want 9k more but the 2016 was sold as NEW. EXACT same options except the one I bought is Ruby Red which actually gave it a higher MSRP. I then added the 7/100 B2B and I'm good to go.

The 2015's should still be available because they had a recall on them and just got them back on the lots like a month ago. That's why I bought a 16, cause I'm inpatient

They are fun cars, but can be problematic. Mine's been in the shop for 2 1/2 weeks now with a computer/sensor/who the **** knows issue. It's pretty frustrating to own a car that you can't drive :(

Wow, there is a dealership near me with a "new" 2015 SHO, its a PP but doesn't have the 401A group which is disappointing. The big problem is the guy I dealt with was difficult to work with. I wasn't trying to buy it at that moment, but then he valued the SHO at 50k without looking at the sticker. I walked out immediately. I got an email from the dealership later saying they'd give me the best deal on it, so I think I'll see if they get anywhere close to 17.7k off MSRP. I think that'd make me forget the car being an ugly color and not having all the right options.

I really wanted a nice car with all the bells and whistles so I bought used. For me, I would always think I hate this color and I wish I had xxxxx LMAO But most of my cars are 20 years old and I don't sale anything so, I would never take my own advice,

That is insane for a 2015. It will be 2 model years old when you drive it off the lot. Immediate 30% hit. They will have to drop the price substantially to sell it. SHOs don't fly off the lots like Mustangs. Be patient and you will find the deal you want.

When I bought my SHO a few months ago they had a brand new 2015 in the lot asking $35 for it. I don't remember the options. I think it had the 401a pkg but don't recall what if anything else.

Don't be afraid to widen your search radius to find EXACTLY what you want.. I live in eastern PA and if i was willing to drive 2 hours (which i was) i shopped from Harrisburg to Upper NY to Jersey/NYC to Baltimore.

I ended finding a killer deal (IMHO) in Baltimore and bought my 16 from them.

The only annoying thing about the purchase was 95 north on the drive home not letting me get my new 'family sedan....' (says the wife) above 45mph..

45 on 95!?!! Did she see your life insurance policy!?!? That is a death wish...

On a side note.. picked up my 2010 back in 2014 for $21K with 27K miles on it...
