what color dye.

thinking of buying some SEM vinyl dye to dye a console black. what color should i get? gloss, landau, or satin black? ive also heard this works on plastic and carpet. anyone know for sure? thanks

Some people only check the forum once a day, give it more then 3 hours.

I'd go with the satin, but I've never used the SEM dye. I'll be using VHT dye for some interior pieces come warmer weather.

what surface are you applying it to? vinyl or plastic? They also make a prepping compound for textured pieces that you can't sand and prime.

I am thinking of dying my interior entirely in satin black...one piece at a time....

I have used the satin black with good results, works better if you use the prep can, or scuff it up with some scotch brite first. As far as carpet it works pretty well for hiding stains, but as far as doing a major color change I wouldnt recommend it....
