"Goo Gone", available at most hardware stores, etc. You'll want to touch up the area with at least spray wax afterwards as the sap plus the Goo Gone tend to remove any wax under the spot.

I use this bug and tar remover from turtle wax of all companies. works really well, as a matter of fact. I tend to get alot of bugs and tar/sap all over the front of my ATX because of where I drive, and it works alright.

WD-40 works well too, but leaves a residue that can be tough to get off...

Vinegar works great, as long as you don't mind the salad smell. Seriously, it's great for water spots, too.

I recently had a layer of sap on a few spots on my car. I've been so busy that it was sitting on there baking in the sun for like 3 weeks. Finally had a chance to address the problem and even the Bug and Tar remover I had wouldn't take it off. Used a very sharp knife carefully and scraped most of the sap off. What was left I used the Bug and Tar remover to take care of. If you use this highly dangerous method of sap removal, be sure you have a steady hand! :)

It is not sap. At this time of the year it is aphid excrement. Mostly sugar based and after cooking in the sun it carbonizes.

Ya know, my 4 year old got SAP on my TV and I couldn't get it off. It's disturbing to watch network TV in Spanish.

Hey SHO Plus 91,
I noticed you're from jersey. Where do you get your suspension work done? Or do you do it yourself?
I want to install some tokicos and eibachs on my 1993 ATX and I need some assistance. BTW, I'm from Scotch Plains
Thanx
