STORY:
Hi all, I've been having trouble with the connectivity of my battery cables. Sometimes (it's happened 3 times) I'll stick the key in the ignition, crank it, and all the power goes dead. I figured out that when I disconnect one of the leads and reconnect it, I have just enough power to try again, but all I would get is a *click* and then no more power.

Finally, I positioned the cables differently on the contacts, and it started right up. I figure it's gotta be these cheap aftermarket wires the guy put on the new battery.

QUESTION:
Does anyone know where I can get a pair of foolproof, highly conductive, never-fail battery cables? Maybe the stock ones are better than these cheapy aftermarket ones? Thanks very much for the help.

Sounds like you just need to clean the contacts with a good wire brush, put some anti-corrision stuff on there and tighten them. You shouldn't be able to move them with your hands w/o loosening them first. If they are that loose the corrision builds up quicker because of arching and whatnot. I have a 'cheap' positive lead on my car and have never had a problem with it.
