well i just got back from ntb where i dished out 310$ for an alignment and 2 new tires. this should be a testimonial for all those that delay getting an alignment. in march i bought 2 new tires and had them put on w/o an alignment because i needed to get the parts to do it. 2 weeks ago i got 2 new rear endlinks, i also put on the adjustable camber plates too (moog brand), all new struts and all new springs and a driver's side ball joint, and 3 months prior i got new front endlinks. after having them all installed, my steering had to be turned 45 degrees to the left to make my car go straight. what i though would be like a $60 charge turned out to be a $310 charge. apparently, not having the aligment killed my new tires. the guy showed me the wear on the inner side and on the passenger side it was almost showing the steel belts. the previous tires were continental tourings and now i have two yokohamas and the car drives great. the yokohams were 30$ more expensive than the contintentals which they don;t sell anymore because the guy said they are junk.
let my loss be your gain...always have your car aligned and do not put it off liek i did bvecause it will cost you more money in the long run.

next to tackle:
front motor mount, exhaust rattle, ac clutch regapped, and fog light prob.

About how many miles did you drive with no alignment? I drove almost a motnh with no alignment but only about 500-600miles and luckily no damage to my tires.

erik,
i went to the woburn one. car seemed to be doing great until that night. i am on rt 3 doing like 75 and the car is doing somethign weird. i am bringing it back to ntb on wednesday to see what the diagnosis is. it is swerves to the right, returns to normal, swerves to the right. i am thinking it may be a tire off balance because on my way home from NTB i herad 2 things of metal hit my car which when i put 2 and 2 together i am thinkign it may be the weights used to balance it.
any opinions?

Hey Jay, what part of Rte 3 was your car swerving in??

Just make sure it wasn't the road itself that's under construction. 3 is known for having some pretty bad tire ruts. And a large section, especially the part between Rte 128 and Concord Rd., in particular. What they did was shift the lanes over about 5 ft. What happens is that you're now riding , not in the ruts, but on top of the edges. What I've found to happen, either on my pimped out Accord or my company Town Car, is you may drift only a few feet to the side and the car dives for the rut. Pretty violently, too.

If you can't duplicate the problem on other highways, don't worry about it.
