We had some snow, a few weeks ago, which is not that common where I live, and I drove my Jeep for a week. The SHO sat in the driveway. After getting in the floor under my feet was wet. A few years ago, I replaced the rubber plugs in the floor, as it would get wet after a rain and driving through puddles. Since I didn't drive it this time, I think perhaps the snow on the roof melted and may have gotten in the door and pooled under the carpet.

Does this sound right ? Before I spend $100 on the weatherstrip for the drivers side door, I wanted to make sure it wasn't something else.

Hey,

Yes, I tried their weatherstrip, apparently it's the best/only available. It serves it's purpose, but has a couple flaws.

It's missing the inner lip of the weatherstripping which leaves a gap less than one inch in the interior with the door closed. It's not very noticeable unless you're staring at it but could be annoying to some.

Also, since it's just a generic weatherstrip, it doesn't have the bends you'd find on the original, so you may have some issues getting it contoured to the body, making it a bit difficult to close the door at first. I left mine like that and after a while it flattened out.

I didn't need glue, thankfully it snapped on pretty snug.

Have you tried replacing the weatherstrip yet and is that your problem? I'm interested to know because I have a leak as well on the drivers floor and replacing the weatherstripping didn't fix it.

Could you tell me where the rubber plugs in the floor are located btw? =D
