Go to v8sho.com, look through the menus for "folks who will weld your cams" and find someone in your area-or as close as possible. Everyone on that list has performed the welds with success. Get it done ASAP so you can enjoy the car without worry. thumb

Unfortunately the list of camwelders does not include anyone in Washington state. Does anyone know of any camwelders and/or are a camwelder in Washington State? Please let me know. Thanks.

Folks who weld your cams
I believe Chris in Northern California is your closest bet. Drop them a line. Look under Northern Ca Cam weld experience for his new email address.

Unfortunately California is not the most reasonable and realistic answer. I'll just have to have my brother help me find someone up here. Thanks anyway.

I would review the list, there are several people that have welded cars and created problems too. The list is only there for some type of direction for you to follow. If your selecting anyone from that list do your home work and get atleast 5 other recomendations about that person or shop before you bring your car there.

Absolutely agree. Should always call and ask for referrals, as well as check the V8 Site for comments about each shop.

There is a problem with the cam drive sprockets coming loose on the cam. I have not checked the numbers in a long time, but last I looked there was a documented occurance of this on about 2% of the V8 SHOs, and one would suspect the undocumented occurance rate to be higher. The problem is easily corrected with some welding or pinning, though welding is a good deal less expensive and seems to work just fine. For details on all of this, including photos, you might look at V8SHO.COM. It is extensively covered there.
