Hi, I have 1999 Ford Taurus SHO and I must get my cams welded ASAP. I live near Kansas City, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of anybody who could weld my cams. My car has around 101K miles on it, and I know if I dont get my car welded it's days could be numbered. :thankyou:
I'd take it to either James "St Louis SHO" or have Paul "Nebraska SHO" weld them for ya. I know Paul personally and he has welded the cams in his '99. Might be an easier trip to make than going to STL anyway.
You must strip the intake manifold. Surge tank and valve covers. Its really not that hard to do. Also suggest while your in there to change the spark plugs out. Move the 4 coils from the back of the motor to the front. Check the wiring harness that runs across the top of the back valve cover for any signs of excessive heat melting the sheathing on the wires. Be careful with all the gaskets because they are hard to come by. Also the Lower intake Manifold that houses the secondaries will need to be de-carboned.
Thanks, I looked up the process online and seems prett easy. I'll going to d it this weekend and then bring it to a local welder who said he could weld it. Thanks for the help, everyone :woo-hoo::thankyou:
