weird noises, please help

After reading many threads on many problems I need help diagnosising a problem. I came to conclude to check my engine motor mounts, and here is how it worked:

1. Placed car w/emerg. brake on. I then slowly released the clutch in first gear.

Result: No movement of intake manifold.

2. Placed car w/emerg. brake on. I then slowly released the clutch in reverse.

Result: The intake manifold, which should tilt away, the rear rises and the settles. It seems to be okay, but I'm unsure of this diagnosis.


I have some other engine problems so I don't want to confuse one for the other.

well it sounds like you have a mtx, but that dont help.

Motormount Problem?

I think 'brucebender' is trying to explain what he did to check if his motormounts are still good or needs replacing. We hope to hear from him again soon.
