I'm sure that someone will have the answer to this. This is my third SHO and i'm only 22 but this has me stumped.

Today I make a stop at the post office come out to my car a 93 MTX and there is a weird sound coming from underneath the drivers side dash. Of course no start just a click. Call a buddy for a jump start and after 15 minutes of charging it cranked for about 1 second and slow. Next we try to pop start it behind a truck. No go it didn't work. Left my car there for a few hours came back to grab my checkbook. And there was a clicking noise coming from the trunk, it was the black box on the left dunno what it's called. It's a month old starter and a year old battery. Could corroded cables cause this problem? If not Please give me some advice.

Thanks In Advance,
Andrew

My car was making a clicking noise from the trunk as if someone had placed a bomb under my car and it was ticking away about to explode. I had my battery cables loose and kind of half connected because I was about to remove the battery. The clicking stopped as soon as I tightened the clamps on the battery cables. So I would say, yes, it could be a result of a bad connection, possibly due to corroded cables.

I changed my cables to 4 gauge all throughout and now it works great they were corroded from the inside out. New life in the SHO once again.
