Hey Ian. You better watch out. Parts have been arriving for my own litle project over the past few weeks. I've got a Fidanza and a clutch sitting next to me here at school. I've got an X2J computer at home thanks to your message. This summer should be quite interesting, especially if I can come up with decent brakes for my front end.

And so my post is somewhat on topic, I should not that I too will have a stripped daily driver once my project is complete.

Hehe. I talked to your dad last night and offered to help out with the swap. So let me know, it should be fun. When you aren't looking, I'll remove a piston so you can't keep up with me! Let's just hope that it's not a 95 degree summer again!

In a year or so I think I may get another daily driver (used M3 or 540i) and relegate the SHO to weekend romps. If that happens, I'm probably going to remove a lot of stuff from the SHO to save some weight. I put my 12" sub box back in the trunk the other day and regretted it somewhat. I'm thinking of going with a smaller sub or maybe (deep breath here) just going with some speakers in the rear deck and dumping the sub all together. I can't believe that I'm thinking this way now. I AM getting old after all.

Of course, I could just keep it full weight. I got a price quote for CCW Vortech T trim from superchargersonline.com this morning It's nice to dream....

I'm looking at houses this weekend with Becky so I don't know why I think I'll have the money to own a BMW and a modded SHO + mortgage payment. Hopefully I'll be finished school (again) and be working full time (again) soon!

cut out all of the floor u dont need and replace with alumimiun, also all the trunk supports and hinges, u can just pin the trunk on. and just remove every little thing u dont need, sterio center console. hood liners, all the plastic crap. weather stipping not light but u may need that. also seatbeat recoilers are kinda heavy, and drop those front seats for some racing ones, 60lbs a peice, omg.

Removing the stuff from the drivers seat pocket might help save a pound or two.

Lol and it doesn't take much to remove the console bracket.

I'm definately going to weight my car on a scale when it's done. Just any truck scale?
