My 95 MTX brakes feel pretty weak, especially compared to other four disc brake cars. I have no abs lights on, or anything like that, but it almost feels as though the rears are not working as they should.

Any ideas on a problem/remedy?

Thanks

Well on my 92 the rears werent working at all, the rear calipers were froze up so i replaced everthing in the rear. New calipers, rotors, and pads. Then i realized the the parking brake was not releasing so i disconnected it till i have time to put the new one on. So if i was you i would check all those things out cause i never had an ABS light come on either.

BTW Is there any rust build up on the rear rotors? If so thats a definate sign that they are not working.

Theres no problem, the stock brakes are weak:evilgrin:

What makes you say it feels like the rears aren't working? If you just replaced the pads, than you were able to push the piston it, so the caliper isn't frozen (most likely). Some things to check: What is the condition of the hoses, they can swell on the inside and let less fluid pressure to the rears. A malfunctioning or improperly adjusted rear bias valve could cause low fluid pressure.

It might just be that you are not use to a nose heavy car? Between all the weight in the front and weight transfer to the front under braking (especially after the bias valve shuts down pressure to the rears) the front brakes do almost all the braking. It may be time for a front brake upgrade and/or some bias plugs.
