What kind of wax does everyone use for their SHO's? I have never really come across this question before, and my grandfather just had his 280ZX Turbo repainted, and was asking me about some of the best wax to use. I told him I use Zymol. What do you guys use?

I use Meguiars Gold Class. Works excellent, really brings out a deep-*** shine. I waxed the hood of my CSVT with it and took a picture, and everybody that saw the picture just thought I took a picture of myself in the mirror :)

I have also used the Meguires 3-Step System with much success (when I do the whole car, anyways). It has been my favorite so far.

:thumb: I also use the Meguires 3 step system. It is the best I have used. If you have a half day free, do all three coats, and it will be as smooth as silk.

the best wax I have ever seen is zaino, If you are serious about your cars finish, that is what you use. It's standard fair for Porshe, Ferrari and BMW owners

Does anyone have the link to the 3-step system, or info on where to get it? How much is it?

3 steps

I get mine at Meijer. I think it is like $6 a bottle so about $18. I have seen it at Autozone and prob all other major auto parts stores. If you have the time it works wonders, takes out small scratches, cleans the paint and a nice carnuba wax to go on top! have fun. Aaron

you can get it at autozone or any other auto parts store generally....you should be able to pick it all up for $25 or so for all of it........plus some terry clothes or whatever you prefer to use

I think the mequiars is good, but it doesn't last long at all :headbang:

have fun and be prepared to invest at least 4 hrs to get it good!

I agree 100% with your suggestion. Only the best of cars use Zaino...there seriously is NO substitute.

Just yesterday I used Meguires New wax.... NXT Generation Tech Wax. I also bought meguiars HI-TECH Yellow Wax #26 (the PRO version of Gold Class) I have not used it yet.

I waxed the SHO in no time... and the wax was by far the easiest wax to Ever be taken off a car!! The shine was also very nice and deep. (sorry no pictures)
Next step is the #26 over the NXT. The NXT wax, by the way, left NO white residue at all. It was painless and enjoyable!! So my recomendation is for NXT and I'm sure #26 will work very nicely also!

Just my Two Cents :D

I used the Meguiars 3 step system on my Accord and it came out great.

Tell you what I use to keep my black '04 Town Car looking pristine: Griot's Garage products.

I've used their cleaning clay which gets a clean car absolutely dirt free. Clay will get whatever feels smooth to actually be smooth. Their hand polish works great for light swirls and their wax is easy to apply and lasts a long time.
