so i juiced my car a bit today to about 6k RPM's, and the next thing i notice is a rattle coming from the engine, so i'm thinking please no rod bearings!

well i got it home and noticed:

a very loud rattling sound coming from the water pump.

Sounds like there is a piece of metal broken off inside of it or something.

A bolt loose on the back side of water pump, that i cant get to with the timing cover on. The nut cant be tightened anymore bc there arent threads on the bolt, like it pushed thru from back side of water pump past the threads.

There is no water leaking and the loose bolt does not appear to be rattling around in there

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

timing belt was loose

tensioner pulley was loose

all pulleys seemed to be good (not a lot of play)

tightened up bolt on water pump

anything else i should look for while in there?
