Hey Guys..
Long story short im trying to replace the W.pump on a 91 but cant seem to get the cover surrounding it off to get to the bottom 2 bolts.
As far as i can see its in 3 stages - 1 covers the cam gears/2 just below the water pump/3 sorrounding the crank.
took no.1 out but 2 seems to come out from the right(towards the alternator) but is stuck from the left.
Any ideas..

any help would be great.....

Back in Michigan ... again.
Yeah, the lower timing cover needs to come off first, and that mean pulling the crank pulley. You can get all the fasteners out, but the middle cover still won't clear without the bottom one coming out. :bonk:

However, you can notch out a small section of the cover near the bottom closest to the battery, and wiggle it out that way. I did this on a 91 SHO I had where the water pump needed to go but I wasn't interested in yanking the crank pulley. I can't remember exactly where I notched the timing cover (used a dremel drill) but with said modification I was able to do the water pump install. There will be a small gap in the cover obviously once you're done, but it does save a LOT of time on this job.

Also, moved to the correct section :thumb:
