By "new" do you mean a new Motorcraft pump, a new aftermarket pump, or a new "remanufactured" pump?

A reman will only include the pump to housing gasket and you should buy the Fel-Pro ES70425 kit (under $5.00 at RockAuto) which also includes the pump housing to block o-ring and the two crossover tube o-rings as well as the gasket for the intake pipe from the lower radiator hose.

The Motorcraft will have the pump housing to block o-ring, but IIRC only one crossover tube o-ring (the pump to housing gasket comes pre-installed).

Aftermarket new pumps I think are hit or miss as to what o-rings they will include, but are usually assembled just like the Motorcraft pump.

In any case, having the Fel-Pro water pump kit mentioned above on hand is always a good idea regardless of which pump you buy IMHO; it's $5.00 worth of extra insurance should you accidently damage a gasket or o-ring

Sorry a new aftermarket water pump.

If you buy the new Japanese made Aisan WP, sold by Autozone under the Duralast brand, then buy the Felpro gasket kit. The reason is the crossover tube o-ring that comes with it is not correct, and there is only one.

The last Cardone rebuilt WP I bought included all of the o-rings. But the pump was a piece of junk, so it did not matter.

Thanks a lot. Tore down the motor again and replaced the o-rings. Everything seems to be fine now!
