So i have found a love for washing the sho. Problem is every time i was it. It looks like crap. I start with a foam gun, high pressure wash, then hand wash 2 bucket method. I sham dry it then i have to re wipe with a micro fiber towel, to get the water spots and film not to show. I have 4,000 miles on the 2018. It has already been detailed once due to looking so bad from the dealer.

What color is it?

My "magnetic" looks awesome. But my dealer is also awesome - and you can't say that about many dealers.

Are you on well or city water? I love washing mine as well, but always have deposits on my glass due to the hard nature of my water.

A good spray wax and detail spray after you wash does wonders. If you want it to pop with just a wash, you need to have had it waxed prior. this is last year june. My 2010 had a wax/polish weeks prior to the pics (no filter). So I pretty much just wash, spraywax and detail spray or just skip the wash if it's not bad, and just detail spray. Get rid of the sham. Use a good mircofiber drying towel. I like the "Dry Me a River" drying towels. A good spray wax does wonders too.

This was just after a quick wash....HRs

Also, if you are using an abrasive soap it can leave the car looking ashy. Meguiars Gold car wash is good one.

Here is a good video from Pan The Organizer.

Yea you should def ditch the sham, as i'm pretty sure many people have made videos about, but shams and or the old towel/shirt usually scratch the crap outta the paint without you noticing. A good deatil spray usually helps in the drying process.

I have a shop sink and had it plumbed with water from my water softener. keeps the hard water of my well from the wash job as it has a hose hookup too :)

I have used a sham for decades and never had a problem with scratches. You do need to get the sham soaking wet before you start using it and wash it with no soap in the washing machine after each use. I use it on my Ruby Red SHO and it looks great every time.

What soap are you using?

After you wash your car and rinse the soap off, use the hose to "flood" the paint with water and that'll allow sheets of water to roll off and you'll have far less to dry.

It will also help with what you apply after you're all said and done. The easiest I've used was Mckee's Hydro Blue Sio2. I got a bottle of their paint coating the other day that I plan to apply soon. Should make washing MUCH easier.

I want to update I use mother's gold soap but the last couple times I've washed i used mother's speed 2.0 wash and wax. As For the sham i use a micro fiber. It sucks up alot of water. I'm leaning towards it's the hard water i have for my well. I will bring home 50 gal. Of RO. water from work and try a wash with it
