my 94 mtx has a slipping clutch, so the clutch pedal was hard as a rock, i just used some engine brite to clean the motor up. after all was said and done i went for a drive and the clutch is a rock any more and it seems to shift easier. what the ****??? dirty clutch cable or what?

Chris' (AutoSHO) always got smoother to use when it was raining and he drove through a puddle. You could spray some water in there or pull the transmission.

that makes no sense to me how does water getting in there make it shift any better and make the clutch softer? i'm replacing the clutch next month is this something i could fix at home i've got basically all the tools anyone could want and alot experience with fixing motors but not so much with trannis or clutches

I was basing off your cluch pedal being stiff. If the gears are shifting smoother, it may now be fully disengaging the clutch with a better funtioning fork.
