I would like some different thoughts on which way to go with my 94' AutoX SHO. heres what I have now. 11.6" fronts and stock rears ( solid rotor ) with some type of aftermarket pads and Bias plugs. There are 16"X 7" Borbet wheels that I intend on using again. I installed a new Master Clylinder this summer. I have Earl's lines, not installed yet. Im waiting to replace or rebuild all my calipers along with that. The car has 178 K on it. The brakes work Ok. I do get some antilock action,:cuss: even on a moderate slow down and it sucks. I think the rear calipers aren't working 100%. the car is lightened up now and will be even more light this winter. Oh, this is a track only car from this point on. Sooo, Im looking for advice guys!! thanks in advance Mark:thumb:
Suspension is as follows: aluminum sub frame bushings, welded SFC's. H- brace, EIbach springs, Tokico struts, front & rear strut tower braces. 20.5 MM front sway bar, 26 MM rear.

Im guessing your talking about brake upgrades....

you could(without too much work)throw on some Cobra calipers on the 11.6's. Those coupled to SS lines makes braking much more direct.

As for the rear, you could go to the Gen1(and 92)vented disc... but for auto cross, i dont think it would be worth the work.

What type of tires are you running? If your getting ABS, the wheel is sliding... I would look into some sticking tires as well. IMO, the Falken Azenis(sp?), are awesome.... about 450-ish from Ebay....

What type of suspension? To what extent?

more rubber, more HP.....
For autocross, the most important thing is tires.

If you are in a street tire class, get Falken Azenis. Nothing else comes close.

If you want R compounds, Hoosier A6 or Kumho ECSTA V710.

Your brakes will work a lot better with real sticky tires.

Then comes the 13" cobras, Quaife, coilovers, and 3.2L not necessarily in that order. :)

(And aluminum SFB's, full length SFC's, Koni's, etc. )

ditto the last post

i autocrossed my '89 for years ..... the single best "mod" was a set of kumho race rubber ....... cut 4 seconds from a typical time

the braking is also enormously better ..... when they are warmed up its hard to lock them up ...... they just stick

19.6 mm front bar, quaife, and race tires. On a typical course, I'd wager 5 sec drop. Also lots of front neg camber, not so much on the rear. Get that thing to rotate.
