Thursday morning I'll be helping Dan install his sub frame connectors on his car. If anybody in the Club wants to see how it's done, you're welcome to drop by at 9 AM.

This is the same car that will be getting the clutch job on saturday.

Thanks again to Tom for installing some Dooleyville Stage IV SFC's:hail:

We did however notice that my stock Y pipe will most likely need to be replaced when we do the clutch on Saturday. Does anyone know if Shobros garage(goofsho) has these parts in Prescott? It would be alot cheaper than springing for the Magnaflow unit at AdvancedAuto.

Hey Tom!!!
My car's been bottomed out to hard at one point. I don't remember doing it......anyway, I need to somehow pull the unibody frame back down before I can install my SFC's. Can Dooleyville handle that???

Brian,

It depends on where the "****" is in relation to the strengthening members of the "pan". If we can get a good "hook" into the middle of the ****, we should be able to pull it out. If not, we might be able to "push" from the inside using a cross beam with the doors open.

You're welcome Dan, sorry the outboard welds look so crappy; reaching in across the ramp is sort of like long distance welding. I'm glad we converted your shorty SFC's to full length versions.

Dan,

I know I asked you but I would forget my name if it weren't embroidered into my underwear. Where did those sub-frame connectors come from? For some reason the name Josh comes to mind, but when I type "sub-frame connector" and "Josh" into the internet, I keep getting websites that the IT department would frown upon.

Troy,

I purchased them from Bittersweet sho about a year ago. The ones that i purchased were the "shorty" versions. Tom was able to find some thick wall 1x2 and convert them into full length sfc's. There is a diagram floating around with all the dimensions for making the Full length Sfc's.

Hope this helps

Crap...my fingers typed sub-frame connectors, but my brain meant sub-frame bushings. So, where'd you get the sub-frame bushings?

But since we're on the subject, I picked up a stick of 1"X2" .120 wall tubing yesterday. My wife's Bug is not the best vehicle for that. :nut:
