what's the easiest way to get the sound deadening stuff off the inside of the car? I wanna lighten my beast down a lil bit, but I wanna keep the interior intact (after all, everything but the seats only weighs about 50lbs). I wanna pull all the sound deadening out of the interior and trunk....should be about 60-80lbs, ya think?

you could also change the seats out for something lighter and non motorized...

from what I recall on my old one, there really is not that much sound deadening under the carpet.... maybe SHO's are different... its not covered all over like some other cars that get 20-30lbs or so off the weight by removing this.......

I don't really think its worth doing.......

some people use dry ice on the sound deadener and then chip it off with a chisel..........

alternately, some people use a hair dryer to get it real soft and scrape it off....... messier but not as hard of work.....

I would really concentrate on other areas....... Some cars have a(maybe my new sho was already removed) piece of carpeting type material behind the rear seat to isolate noises from the trunk area..... I'd remove that....

cruise control isn't really needed, I'd say it weighed a good 5-10lbs on my ATX....

its not real heavy, thwere isnt much underthe carpet, I removed it when I took apart my 94, although what was said above about the rear seat to trunk, that stuff weighs a little bit. The stuff under the carpet probably isnt worth your time.
