Ok, first fo all I know how to remove it. I was taking it out becuase my chime does weird things, it continues to "ding" even when the key is not in the ignition. I know it's this lil brown wire hooked up to it that's screwy. but what I'm talking about is I stuck a screwdriver in the hole, and it made my horn operate, lol. My horn won't work when you press the buttons. long story short, is sticking a little screwdriver a safe way to sound my horn? will it by any chance trigger the airbag to inflate?

I wouldn't mess with anything electrical near the air bag. My bonneville manual even says to ground yourself out before handling the air bag.

Your clockspring is cracked, frayed, or otherwise broken. You should replace it.

Also, you should be very careful around airbags, with that said, an airbag is not going to magically deploy by unhooking it, touching it wrong, looking at it funny, etc. Don't probe the airbag with a multimeter and don't use it as a soccer ball and you will be just fine.
